a friend told me that i can add any app, for free onto my iPhone. he told me that i can download a cracked version of the app online and i can add it to itunes.
he tells me this is not jailbreaking.
can anyone confirm any of this? is there a way to “hack” the iPhone? he calls it changing permissions but it sounds like jailbreaking.

ya you can do that if u want to hack your iphone just visit any torrent sites like www.btjunkie.org and just download the hack for the iphone and enjoy and even you can download all kinds of free applications from there……….cheers

I got my iphone like 4 months ago and people are always saying that I would have so many more things if I got it hacked. I don’t know about “hacking” but that usually sounds like a bad thing. Should I? What are the benefits? If yes, how?

Two types of hacks for the iPhone:
Unlock – Making it so the iPhone can work with T-Mobile or any other cell phone company that uses a SIM card.
Jailbreak – Bypassing the restriction and gaining access to system files so you can install games or applications.
Both void your warranty.
Jailbreaking isn’t really worth it. The applications are unstable and can crash. They get boring after a while too. Once early July hits and the free update is out, then you can download/buy (depending on the application’s complexity) real games and applications that are official and don’t void your warranty and don’t crash (can go from simple Solitaire [free] all the way to EA Game’s Spore or Valve’s Bioshock [definitely not free])
