My friend has an iPod and wants to get a iPhone but wants to know if he can transfer the saved game data to the iPhone? If it can can you please tell me how. I don’t want to “hack” the iPod or the iPhone.

Yes, tell him to back up his iPod touch on iTunes, right click on the iPod touch and press back up. Then when he is activating his iPhone, make sure he’s restores from backup when should give him an option to restore from the iPod touch back up.
